So... what's the general consensus? I've read through numerous threads with different methods used. I'm looking to pass some info on to a friend, but I'm curious how everyone's procedures have held up over time. Right now, it seems that the 3M headlight restoration product seems to be a contender.

I used a few different grits of sand paper, running from 400-2500. Then hit it with Meg's PlastiX. Keep them waxed and they haven't faded for me yet. Your results may vary if you park facing the sun a lot I imagine. I know there are few UV resistant paints out there, but they seem to give the lights a yellow tinge.

I've used the sand it, clean it, and paint on the mixture of mineral spirits and Spar varnish. It lasts about a year.

I sand all the oxidation off, then spray 2 light coats of Minwax spar polyurethane. Keep waxed, lasts me about 2 years. - BC
