Hi;

I just picked up a bonneville and the console looks like it is peeling. How is that dealt with? I would really like it to have a clean look. Can you use plastidip on it or should I just use regular paint. I am hoping to get it to look like it did when it was new.

Getting it to look like when it was new might be kinda hard. The closest thing you might try would be Plastidip. If you paint it, it will be too shiny.

To get all the original coating off, take the piece out and soak it in hot water. The coating just peels right off.

Some satin spray paints can look quite nice and not come out awfully shiny. Just peel the old stuff and scuff it lightly with some sandpaper.

Might try wrapping it in 3m vinyl too.

Try carbon fiber vinyl wrap to give it a sportier look.

That is a huge piece with many crevices. It would be both hard to wrap and find a sheet of vinyl big enough.
