Short time lurker, but loved the site enough to join.

I am having the standard "crappy factory chrome liftoff" problem on the wheels for my Bonneville. I have had the car 3 weeks and already I am sick of losing air pressure. I am looking into option for simple aluminum 17" rims, preferably ones I can just use my pontiac center caps off my chrome rims with.

I have heard of using rims off chargers, buick lucernes, olds auroras and chevy impalas.

I am looking for the best deal that won't look hideous. There are plenty of scrapyards near my home, I just need to know what I am calling/digging for before I spend one of my few days off there.

Also, I was recently given a pair of 235-65-17 tires off of my friend's volvo C90 that have alot more tread than 2 of my tires. Are these safe to put on the rear of my bonne if I keep the fronts 235-55-17?

I wouldn't run two different size tires like that, it could play hell with your ABS in a bad situation, it would also look goofy.

As for wheels, I don't think you will find any other wheels that will fit that will be able to use that large center cap on the swoopie wheels. For other options though, Mustang wheels also fit and look great on these cars. I say if you're going for different wheels go with at least 18" wheels as they look world's better then 17".

I agree, the Mustang Bullitt wheels are in my opinion some of the best looking wheels on these cars.

I am looking more for ballin on a budget here. Mustang rims are never cheap for an undented set.

The tires are only being used because the ones on the fron are kinda wiggy and i would rather have oversized rears with good tread than poor tread on the right sizes

Look on craigslist, you might be surprised what you can find for a good deal. The wheels on the red Bonneville in my sig are from a 2010 Mustang GT and I got them for dang near free from a local car guy that sold his car with the aftermarket wheels. As you said though there is also the Charger / 300 wheels that you can use.
