I have some questions about adding additional lighting to the interior of the Bonneville. I had some ideas for the LeSabre that I want to also test out on the Bonneville, but the difference is the bus system in the Bonne.

I'm just wondering how I could go about doing something like that. I've seen Pat's car with additional lightning, but I'm not sure how he did it other than adding the harnesses (like the 2000 reflector lights in the doors). In the LeSabre, it's easy, just tap into existing wires, but I don't feel that's the best way for the Bonneville's wiring system.

Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I'm just in the brainstorming phase right now, and would like to test some things before I went too far.

Couldn't you start by just replacing the incandescent lamps? That's what I do, and at the moment all I do. - BC

I've replaced my interior lights with LED's (and it has been a huge improvement), but I'm looking to add some extra stuff now.

One of the ideas I was thinking was to have some LED's installed under the door panels, so that when you opened the door, the ground around your feet would be illuminated. That's one of the ideas - I'm still thinking on others.

But that's at least something I can think of while I learn how doable this might be.

Totally doable, just tap into the right wires in the harness and use some LED strips. However where/what wires aren't my forte. Shouldn't be an issue.

That's what I was wondering, but I've been concerned about the communications system in the car. I wasn't sure if extra load on the wires would freak the modules out or not.

You have just taken a bunch of load off when you switched the incandescent with LED's.

Get to modding Mister! This stuff should all be fused so if there is too much load, it blows.

If I ever get 2 things I will. "A round to it" and the "where-with-all". I think they would look fantastic. I'd put them on the wife's CTS, except I'm concerned that Cadillac would void the 72k mile/84m GMPP on it - BC

Yeah, I've seen those things lights elsewhere before. They look like a cool idea.

More than likely I plan to install an LED strip inside the panel, with small holes drilled so they shine through (that way they're undetectable when off). And, any extra lighting I add will be fused (learned that the hard way in the LeSabre, one of the extra bulbs got slammed in the door and shorted, and now I no longer have interior lights, and it's not the OEM fuse either).

Knowing that this might work by just tapping into the factory wiring, I think I can start planning where and what I want.

I had never seen those.

After some rummaging, this may be worth a watch:

I've got two sets of those ghost lights except mine have the Coca Cola logo. They look really nice, comparable to the first link he put down. Haven't gotten around to installing them though.
