hey everyone was curious about the h / c body compatibility

was thinking about truly making a one off lss i kind of want a bench seat from a olds 98
http://images.thetruthaboutcars.com/201 ... Greden.jpg
just like that
i know i would have to switch consoles to the regular olds 88 along with a column shift.
but correct em if i am wrong wouldn't all i need is a donor regular 88 along with a 98 bench seat.
the cars are pretty much the same width and i think it would be cool to have the only bench seat boosted lss.

any help is appreciated.

I don't see why not. Don't hold me to this, as I could be wrong, but I think I recall that a C body is just an extended length H body. I have swapped many Park Avenue (C body) parts onto my LeSabre without any fitment issues. At one time, I even put an leather PA rear seat bench in my LeSabre (to replace the cloth seats) and it fit perfectly. However, I went back to the original cloth because my seats were more comfortable than the PA seats I had planned on swapping in.

But, yeah, I think it should work without any problems. The only thing you might have to think about is any electrical device that's being added that you originally don't have. Example: if you're current driver (or passenger) seat is manual, and the replacement is electrical, you'll have to do some wiring to make it work.

Others might chime in if I happen to be wrong about any of this.

luckily the power bench i would put in uses the same door mounted seat position switches that control my power seats use probably shouldn't be to hard to re wire if necessary.

Does the LSS have the floor shifter or column shift?

If the seats are as comfortable as the buckets and that's what you want, go for it. I think it looks good - BC

Floor console for the LSS, I think the 88's and 98's got the column shifter.
