I remember on the other site there was a write up on interior trim paint.
My dash is starting to chip from just wear and tear plus my addiction to armorall twice a week lol :)
how do i repaint to match the existing color?

thanks

it may be because you use armor all so often. it can dry up the vinyl

Is your dash the "Camel" color? Check with harofreak00, I believe he did a test of various camel paints not long ago.
There are paints made specifically for use over vinyl. I've used them in the past on auto interiors and they work very well. You can also have these custom mixed at an auto paint shop. So if you can't find an off-the-shelf color that is a close enough match, it's not terribly difficult to get it made custom, pull the dash, and spray it yourself if you have a compressor and spray gun. I've done that in the past too. It isn't terribly expensive because you won't need much paint to just do a dashboard.

It wasnt me that did camel paint testing... maybe Boosty?

If your dash is charcoal, I have an entire dash unit you could swap in ;)

Are you looking to fix the main dash part, or the dash cover on the top?

Well bummer, I dunno who it was then, but somebody tested a bunch of different camel paints. . .I forget why, maybe it was a radio install with a custom faceplate they wanted to match or something. .. it wasn't too long ago, but I don't recall if it was here or at the old site.

i believe it is the charcol color. I have the tan interior with gray/taupe color steering wheel.
heres a picture of the piece. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s39/ ... /Dash2.jpg

haro PM me a pic if you can of that piece you're talking about. that'd be awesome.

Maybe for fun ill paint the trim a whole nother color. I always liked the dark tan interiors that some of the white 00+ bonnes have. i know gumballs interior is that dark tan / brown color and i like it alot.

what steps do i need to take to repaint the interior plastics correctly?

You are talking the bezel, I was talking the entire dash... nevermind.

that piece & the one in the center console, where painted with a thick ruber material. & when it scratches it leaves deep marks, that if you paint over them, they will still be visible. you would have to scrape the piece before painting it.
I did my center console trim, but I did not paint it. what I did was to spray some deagreaser on the piece & with a scotch-pad from the kitchen, I slowly got all of the material out of the piece. then with a 2,500 sand paper & water, I sand it all in one direction. the color of the plastic is basicaly the same & it looks stock.

You won't need paint if you use this method.
