I just bought my 93 ssei, and The previous owner let tire shine or something sling all down the side of the car what the mud flaps didnt catch, ive tried washing the car and a couple of different specialty products and a cutting compound, and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions would be very helpful...Thanks in advance.

I know tire shine labels say that it can permanently stain some plastics, so that may have happened. I'd try a claybar, otherwise you might need something more volatile, like brake cleaner. Spray it on a rag, then wipe the residue off and wash with soap and water. It can damage paint, so be careful.

Alright ill give the clay bar a shot, because the car is extermely straight, but the previous owner never properly washed it, just drive through car washes, and it shows, just gotta get time to do a complete detail to bring it back to its previous glory...thanks guys, hoping to post pics soon.

Try Varsol, then wash. It should be ready to claybar and detail. - BC
