Alright so this is the deal. My friend's dad used to paint cars and he's offering to spray my bumper for free providing I get the paint and everything that's needed to do it minus the spray gun etc. Where do you guys get your paint? I understand that I need some primer, the actual Galaxy Silver (WA519F), and some clear coat.

Thanks in advance.

Ask him what he prefers, and make sure what you get for each is compatible with the others.

:withstupid: Ask his opinion, and make sure he knows to include a flex agent in painting that plastic bumper, or it won't last. :btruestory:

^ yep, what they said. Just had the rear bumper redone on the Fusion the week after we bought it, since the previous 78 yo owner used the park-by-braille method. I also have a friend who's a pro auto body/car restoration person and did the same for me, and if your friend is anything like him, he'll know where to get the right stuff. There's likely some auto body supply stores in your area that carry the DuPont or PPG products that's you'll need. Whenever I get bodywork done through this friend of mine, he takes the car to the local supply store himself, and gets the paint on the car scanned by the supplier's equipment, who will then custom mix the paint for an exact match. There are tiny variances in metallic paint, even between two cars the same year/same color, so done this way, the match is spot-on.
