I just received my new APN UIM today and was considering painting it (if an appropriate color is available). Any information and techniques (for me, the simpler the better).

Don't. Paint holds heat, and hurts performance.

The only option is to very LIGHTLY have it bead-blasted, and paint it with a wrinkle finish to increase the surface area for cooling. Otherwise, you'll hurt yourself.

While you're at it, chuck your engine cover in the recycle bin.

My engine cover went on the shelf the day I bought my car.

I still have the cover for the 95 that Megan took to Ohio. Bought the car and threw it in the attic and never saw it again. It is laying up there somewhere with the 2k's cover.

Cleaned the LeSabre's, and put it away. I know where it is, but I never look up there.

I've thought about throwing mine for sale on clubGP, but I can't bear to get rid of it, lol. The GP guys love ours as ours are black and red and theirs are just gray, IIRC.

I've always trashed the covers, but I bought mine without a cover already. Engine covers are ugly and are for schmoes. IMO, they are just one less unnecessary piece of plastic, are already out of the way, help with cooling, reduce sound insulation, and shed like a fraction of a pound in weight, lol.
