i am going to have to replace the bumper and grille...my car is an SE and I am wanting to get an SSE bumper and grille for the simple fact of the fog lamps being closer together and the grille cover doesnt have that crappy chrome around it. Is this possible?

Yes. You'll need the bumper support that is behind the cover also.

Just updating that the bumper swap was a success. Thanks to harofreak I got it all completed. Only $35 for the bumper supports, reinforcement, and cover. Pics on the way soon

when spring comes around my local paint shop has specials so i will wait till then. The whole car needs some new color anyway. The rear bumper and the driver side fender i got are from the same green SSE. THe car will be either getting a black or red paint job.

you going to paint inside the doors, engine compartment, trunk, etc? changing colors can look awful bad if not done right.

i plan on it. everything will get painted that is the silver color it has now.

Not really..my local Maaco does a full out side paint job for around $300 during the spring. I just realized that before i take my care to get painted, I need to take the sse bumper and fill in the middle "S" so it says SE not SSE. Both bumpers need colored along with my car since i have some deep scratches and flaking paint

Don't go to Macco. You'll never be happy with it. Friends don't let friends do that.

Who was it that had their car painted by them and had them paint over the black trim and foglights? Anyone remember that one? That's the worst quality paint job money can buy. Your car will have zero resale value.

Several shops around me here in Oregon. I'm a bit more familiar with them than any in Indiana.

Shop around through your friends and family and see who actually does inexpensive car paint without drips and orange peel, and actually knows how to mask a car properly. It'll be more affordable if you only repaint those areas that NEED it.

Finding a free-lance independent might be your best bet.

Honestly, you would be much better off if you just put the original parts back on and be done with it.

can't use the original parts seeing as the original bumper cover was shattered and falling apart. Bumper didn' even look like it was salvageable.

Look online for body shops in your area. Maaco is *shoot*, and won't do a good job. Read reviews, and go look at the cars in their lot. Then go back a few weeks later and see if those same cars are in their lot. If so, that means it's going to be tooth and nail to get your car in and out of there in a decent amount of time, and to go somewhere else.

You might consider contacting local Technical/Vocational schools that have autobody programs. The local tech college repainted my old 98 Accord a couple of years back, and did a great job for basically cost. I was without a car for 6 weeks, but it was well worth it for the cost.
