After using Meg's gold class liquid wax, what is a good sealant that i can buy on the spot (as in like advanced auto or like) so i can get a nice sealant on for the MI Meet this weekend.

The Meg's gold class LG is great on its own but doesnt last long. and i need some sealant any how but dont really have the money to buy the good stuff off like auto geeks and such places.

and like i said for now i just need something on the spot.

You shouldnt put sealant over wax........actually nothing over wax, wax is the last and final step.

You can put more coats of wax on though and build it some for a more durable finish.

Liquid Glass...bout $12 a can and there must be a zillion users here for LG. I know napa and the zone both have it.

Generally, a wax will give a deeper, richer, more "wet" look but it will not last long. A sealant will last longer, but won't touch a good carnuba wax in terms of the deep wet look. It may come close, but won't quite hit the nail on the head. This is mostly visible on darker cars, but you might be able to see a difference with your pearlescant paint. There are many people on autopia that say that some sealants actually mute the flake in their paint. That said, I haven't really heard much about LG except for on here, but I would say go for it. Worst comes to worst, you will hate it and be out $13. I don't think you will hate it though, everyone here seems to be happy with it. You could also slap on the Meg's Gold Class wax over it.

Over on Autopia, I've heard it referred to as Liquid *ss. I can't say that I've actually used it though. I may give it a try as I need a long lasting sealant for customer's cars.

Go for it with LG if you want. Otherwise I would suggest going to a local paint supply store or Auto Zone and picking up one of the Meguiars professional sealants. They are in a beige bottle. There is #20 and #21. #20 is a polymer, and #21 is a synthetic. I think the #21 is a longer lasting sealant. I haven't used it yet, but have heard great things about it. I haven't noticed #21 locally though so I don't know how easy it is to find.

Too late now unless you want to strip off the wax you just put on. LG under wax, never over it.

stripping off the wax isnt too though, a good thuorogh wash with dishsoap will get rid of a light coat. then LG and then wax over that if need be
