My carpet is trashed from the last owner... im thinking of removing it and replacing it with one from the junkyard. Question is 92-94 the only cars compatible with the 93? Are park ave compatible? And do I have to remove the front seats to remove the carpet?

Not sure what is compatable, but you do need to remove the front seats and center console and maybe shifter assembly to change the carpet.

be careful, there are wires under parts of those carpets,

anyways, you would need to remove the interior to replace with a newer carpet.

Yeah don't go using a utility knife...shift linkage, etc can be under there depending where you cut...big no-no. Getting a center console out really isn't that hard after you've done it once. Seats are easy as well, just make sure they are centered up with the track rails before lifting them out (and seat backs forward as can go).

With the car being in the Junkyard, probably won't have a battery, or at least no JY around here leaves the battery in. So moving the seats might not be an option and could be tricky if they are powered.

But front seats and the lower trim on the sides and center console. If you want the carpet out in one piece and unmolested the shifting assembly should be removed as well but that can be a pain if you haven't done it before. I've seen a couple people cut the carpet from the shifter forward and replace it the same way and not be able to notice the seam where it was cut.

One other helpful hint, at the bottom of the center console compartment there is a "trap door" of sorts, that will reveal two more screws.

Quick question on my end, I'm thinking of removing my carpet myself for cleaning. I know the front seats have to come out, and I know how to do that, no big deal there...but does the bottom half of the rear seat have to come out? And if so, how does it come up? I noticed just pulling on it lifted it up some, but I don't want to break anything. I hope to find a few hundred dollar bills that someone may have inadvertently dropped back there but I feel that is unlikely.

If its like the 92-99 Bonneville, grab the rear of the seat bottom (where the seat belt buckles are), and pull up. The front of the seat is almost a hindge. You'll figure it out once you start pulling.

To the original post, getting the carpet out is super easy once you have the seats, center console, and door sill/b-pillar trim pieces removed. I've only done it about 100 times.

I've always pushed the front part of the seats wire frame back towards the trunk and lifting. I'll have to try your way next time.

Yup, it worked exactly the same way, thanks haro.

Sadly, I only found a quarter and a couple of pine needles.
