im doing my turn signal mirror LED install

i dont think theres a point of doing a write up.. theres atleast a total of 3 between Pontiac Bonneville Club and BF..

reason im posting this was i didnt quite follow the way everyone did it...

its been done as:
cut thru the heating element and the threw the LEDs on top (they also itched the glass)
and other one was pealing off the heating element and throwing the whole LED assembly under it.
my way was i used a hole puncher to make round holes in the heating element itself and then stick it right on the back of it.. i thought this would be easier than both ways before..

im not quite done yet.. but getting there..
and wiring is a whole different story

nothin is completely done yet... im just doing some testings and making sure the LEDs are sitting straight and praying that my heated mirrors are stil working :P jk i dont see why wont they..

but ill keep you updated

Wow, that looks great!! I wish I had the patience to do that, but I'd break something.

One question..........................What is the purpose of the turn signal mirrors? To let you know your signal is still on so you don't drive 5 miles with it on, or another flashing light for those people who don't understand the great big one flashing on the rear of the car.

Well, mark me up for not wanting to be "super cool". Around here if you signal a lane change, they will accelerate and close up any gap. If you want in, you look and go.

when someone is in your blind spot they CANT see you signaling, so they DONT know you wanna change lanes so they will not speed up, because theres no SIGNAL in the mirror..

Lots of new vehicles have it. Our 05 Duramax truck has it, and it's really nice. When the mirrors extend around the trailer you're towing it gives you another blinker (has the extendable camper mirrors).

That's a cool mod. I'd love to do it in my Buick but the mirrors are tiny, I don't think it would work without being stuck right in the middle of the mirror. I'd love to do it in the truck too, and it would certainly work with the dumbo ears it's got on it, but I'd like to at least have power body colored mirrors before I went to all that effort.

Sweet, looks like another clean install is coming, but that's not surprising.

I might take a swing at this one day but it's not on the top of my list of things-to-do-to-the-car yet.

I really like the looks of this project. Does anyone know of a signal that would fit in my '95 mirrors?

It wont, because of the shape and size of the mirror.
