I forgot what I was looking at today when I had the idea. Around the edge of the mirror is a small gap between it and the housing. If an amber LED light was mounted inside the housing, would it have enough glow thru that gap to be useful? IT would seem like an easy way to add mirror based turn signals without having to modify the mirror assembly mush at all.

hmm probably. I just noticed a bunch of snow packed behind my mirror, it was preventing me from moving it. Looks like there must be space back there

Maybe if I get some free time I'll go pull my old mirror off the shelf in the garage and rig something up to see how it looks.

i think theres room to do it, but im not sure if the gap is enough for other people to be able to see it easily. also i think it would only be effective at night. if at all.

Yea, I remember that one. What I am thinking of would be behind the glass shinning around it.

andrew modified the mirror to have a place for there to be a turn signal. unless i read it wrong, it seems gordy wants to just put an LED behind the mirror that will shine through the gap between the mirror and the housing.

That sounds like a good idea and its something unique. Hope it works out cause I've been wanting the blinker mirrors for the longest
