My A/C system keeps blowing the fuse when I turn it on. I feel I have it narrowed down to the A/C Clutch Cycle switch as when it is removed from the loop and I use a jumper wire on the wire harness that plugs into the switch the fuse does not blow and everything works. I have already replaced the switch with a new one and I get the same result. I have tried both an R12 version and an R134 version switch.

I'm at a loss for what the problem is. Bypassing the switch everything works. Hook it back up and I blow fuses.

Any ideas guys and gals?

Maybe the problem is actually in the clutch coil itself.
To trace any short circuit or circuit overload, you really need a schematic, so you can locate all the wires and components involved in the circuit.

If you are willing to try, use a multimeter and trace the wiring harness to find the short circuit.

Check the resistance, with your bypass, and then check it again with the switch that keeps blowing the fuse.

If its shorting, its likely an exposed or loose wire. Jiggle the wires gently, and look at the resistance. It should be bouncing around different values.
