I don't believe drainage holes are the answer. They may keep water from accumulating but doesn't prevent moisture presence in the passenger area or trunk (depending on where the leak originates). Obviously there must be a solution because not everyone's car has a leak. Long term there's just going to be more problems unless it's fixed correctly.

If the source is unknown I would try a leak detecting powder. If the source is known I'd obtain the right parts (as needed) and spend the time to tackle the problem.

No problems since! Any "moisture" present (like condensation), stays in the spare tire well. I could care less whether or not there's a little bit of condensation there. Last time I did check though, it was dry, so...

As mentioned, I've chased the problem from the sunroof, re-silicone sealing where need be and it still leaked. SO at some point, I just let it be. As long as it drains from the roof, into the trunk, then drains out the trunk, at the end of the day everything is dry. Those folks that don't have this problem should consider themselves lucky. It has to do with some level of sealing that happens during assembly that sadly, I don't think we can get to now.

aren't there already holes there? they are just plugged with some rubber grommet things which i removed.

THere are, but removing those grommets opens up a hole about an inch in diameter. I don't want holes that big...
