So I'm replacing the front valve cover gasket on my '05.
I can account for the placement of every seal/gasket except these two small guys.

The big one is a spark plug tube seal for size comparison.

Thanks in advance guys!

My thought would be the seals for the water pump driveshaft.

Crap, forgot to put in my first post that they are labeled camshaft cover... don't know if that helps.

And Crash, are you referring to the camshaft itself?
The only thing that was present in that area was the metal semi circle with its integrated seal, and a new one of those was included with the new cover set.

So after much searching, I think I may have found an answer... sort of.

This hole is not present on my front cover, and as this is my first shot at working on a Northstar, can anyone confirm if it exists on the rear cover for me?

Thanks

Drew

Yes, these are the inside seals. No, I don't recall that 5th hole on the backside either.

The water pump seal is a half moon style (best way I can describe it) with a metal insert.
