I just purchased some spark plugs and installed them already(Back 4 were a bitch) they are NGK TR55 V Power Spark Plugs #3951. On Ebay it said that they would fir a 2005 GXP but doing more research these plugs fit the 2004 model but not the 2005 model. Do I have anything to worry about. I have them gapped to .5 as requested but now searching the internet more they are made for the 2004 GXP and the regular 3.8 but not the 2005 GXP. The car runs great but do I have anything to worry about. Thanks in advance., Jonathan

I didn't think there were different spark plugs 04 vs 05. I think what you got should be fine.

I do not believe there was a change between the 2004 and 2005 Northstar as far as plug threads and depth go. As long as it threaded in, fit the coil and it runs good, you got the right plugs.

Same engine, same plugs, same heat range, same thread depth, etc. Nothing from that facet has changed on the N*. The TR55 fits pretty much every GM engine. LSx's, Vortec's (Cast iron version of the LSx), 3.8's, 3.4's, etc, etc.

It doesn't help that anytime you go look them up online, GMPartsdirect, etc, they all come up as a regular Bonneville light, so... :)

Everything appears to be running good. 26MPG on the hi-way and 19 in town. Overall we average around 23MPG so it appears the plugs are doing their job.

I wish I got 26mpg on the highway. :(

Even with cruise control, my lead foot (speed) curtails that. :)

Yea, that's about what I get. My last extended trip I got 21'ish. And that was me babying it from slow ups in traffic and "only" doing 75 with the cruise control. Trust me, 75 is crawling for me... I go any slower and I could get out and walk away from the car...
