 Post subject: GXP is throwing a P1570?

So I hooked up my Aeroforce to the GXP this evening, and it's throwing a P1570. Googling it shows it's Traction Control Active - Cruise Control Disabled? Can anyone with a GXP FSM confirm that for me, and what the requirements are for setting it? TIA

If the cruise control is active when some condition caused the traction control to be activated, the PCM will disable the cruise. It's an information DTC, telling you why the cruise control was deactivated.

I would think it is a strange occurance for you to lose traction
(or the system to determine a loss of traction) when you
have the cruise control engaged, usually on the highway.

Hopefully there isn't something going on with false traction
readings.

Were you hydroplaning on the freeway during a storm with the cruise on?

There is a reason why they tell you not to use cruise control on wet or frozen roads. I know I have had my traction control kick in a couple times when I hit a puddle on the highway.

Gotta remember guys, Dad drives the car 99% of the time. No idea wgat caused it, but it's now cleared, and the car is running well.

Actually, it is still in the PCM as a history DTC until you've (your Dad), has completed 40 consecutive successful warm-up cycles after the initial fault. This is not to be confused with 40 consecutive successful "operating" cycles without fault. Being an informative DTC (as previously mentioned), it'll never command the MIL to be on.

Correction, I cleared it with my Aeroforce, lol. I haven't checked it, but i doubt it's come back. Probably from one of the rainy days the past month. Not too worried.

You cleared the current DTC. It's still stored in a history file unless your aeroforce gauges have the ability to clear history files too.

Otherwise, without manually clearing them, history files typically stay until 40 consecutive, successful operating cycles.

I believe it clears history codes, as I re-read it and it said "No Fault Codes".

I'm not sure if it does. A "Fault-Code" is a current DTC. If it's a Type A fault, it will command your MIL to be on immediately. If a Type B, it'll command the MIL to be on after two failures. Either way, a "fault-code" will be a current DTC, and you can clear it with a scan tool, software package, the Aeroforce gauges, etc, OR it'll typically clear on it's own after three consecutive successful operating cycles.

Once the current "fault-code" is cleared (by either way mentioned above), it automatically gets stored as a history DTC and remains in the history file for 40 consecutive successful operating cycles. I think the only tool that can manually clear a history code is a T2. But I'm not absolutely 110% sure on that.
