I had a very small coolant leak on the garage floor and a very small oil leak that
started at the same time. I took it to the dealer (because of extended warranty)
and both were common GXP problems.
1. Water pump crossover gasket = $820.35
2. Oil cooler lines = $605.06

Total was over $1400, I only had to pay $100 deductible

That warranty was the best automotive accessory I ever purchased.
I will have to dump this car when it expires because I will never be able to fix
it myself, or afford to pay someone else to do it.

Yikes. Where's the water pump on a N*?? For that cost, it sounds like it should be somewhere between the crankshaft and the LIM.

Waterpump is on the driver's side, on its own belt. Coolant crossover, however, is a completely different area. Not sure where that is.

It is also on the drivers side. The water pump is mounted inside the water crossover. It is sometimes refered to as a water pump housing.

To simply get to 1 bolt for the cam cover on the front requires disassembly of the waterpump pulley setup. All for one bolt!!!

GIves you an idea of how costly this thing can be when stuff starts going south!

They are a very labor intensive engine. Head gasket replacement (with the required time-sert thread repairs) is 30 hours!
