I am about to change the spark plugs in the bonne. Should I just stick with the original AC Delco's or is there something out there that is better?

Thanks.

Norm

I'd go AC Delco's. Unless you plan on nitrous, which is one of the only mods out there for more power, then you're kind of stuck. Have fun doing the back 4!!!

Thanks for the reply. I've heard about the back 4 nightmare. Not looking forward to it but needs to be done now that I've reached 100k.

Yeah, I pulled the engine cover and cringed. I may just take the car to work and have my boss do them, lol.

AC Delco's work perfect. I went with NGK TR55's as I had a ton of them in stock. They're not a platinum plug, so plan on changing them again in 30k or so again. Not that I'd wait that long with any plug, but...

Be forewarned, it isn't easy on this engine, particularly the back half. Once you remove all shields, the strut tower brace, you'll then have to remove the EGR system, disconnect the ignition feed to what GM calls the "ignition cartridge", then disconnect the feed to each coil. From there you can remove the coils themselves, then the mounting bracket, then the little rubber "O" rings that go between the mounting bracket and the cam cover.

Upon reinstall, don't worry about hearing the normal, audible "click" like you would a plug wire on a plug. The reason being, the electrical contact within the coil pack assembly is spring loaded and well make appropriate contact with the plug based on that.
