Radio controls on steering wheels are dead.
Am good at electronics of all types but this is my 1st GM, I'm 53 and I can't get to the places I used to be able to. Is there already a solution posted that I have missed? Need guidance to know where to start troubleshooting. No sign of OEM unit (AM/FM/cassette) being removed or steering column work. Bad connector in column harness or loose at radio inputs or deeper than that?
BTW-Thanks for the welcomes. I humbly accept membership into the Mid-Atlantic region. You all sound like good, knowledgeable, honest people. Ask me about a Ford, no problem. GM? Duh! All i know about GM is they used to build their factory radios wired " above ground". That was enough to know for me. My learning curve on this car is gonna be slow. That's OK if y'all can put up with me.
Thanks to all.

do any of them work? It's common for them to break, but in my experience, they slowly go out, or only work if you press them a certain way, etc.

All dead. Got the car 2-1/2 years ago-got <88K miles. Controls wew dead when I bought it. After I drove it I didn't care.
Have checked out site but everything being inoperable at once makes me think connection. This was a NC beach car owned by a retired docor or dentist. Already found corroded connectors in other places. Really don't want to pull the bag and repair the tactile pad unless I have to.
Thanks for the input-will keep you advised if that's OK.

the corrosion you mentioned... was it the grounds underneath the carptet? there is one on the drivers side and one on the passenger side also. These are the source of many seemingly random electrical problems.

someone with a FSM or some wiring diagrams might be able to help you more.
