I have a 2000 SSEi that has the stock stereo system in it. I pulled it out of storage and had to replace the battery. When I started the car, I noticed that the radio turns on but no sound comes out of the speakers. I also noticed that the chimes don't work if you leave the keys in or the lights on with the door open. I have checked the fuse for the amp and it checks out as good. Any thoughts what to look at next?

If you put your ear right up to one of the speakers, do you hear even a faint hum, hiss or other noise? What method did you use to check the fuse for the amp? If you tend to carry things in the trunk, you may want to make sure the connectors on the amp are well seated. It isn't likely they became dislodged if you have the trim panel in place, but I'd unplug and plug them back in again anyway.

Is it safe to assume that you aren't having any other problems with the car?

I didn't hear anything coming out of the speakers when I listened to them. For the fuse, I held it up to the light and also put a Fluke on it to make sure it was solid. I don't carry much, maybe a car cover but I will check the connections on the amp.

I also have an issue with the blower motor not blowing any air. I think something may have built a next in the ducts and was hoping they didn't chew any wires. Was trying to find the simple things before I tear the dash apart.
