Hey guys, just installed a aftermarket pioneer unit in my lesabre. I'm getting really crummy AM reception. When i did the install I didn't hook up the power antenna wire as I associate a power antenna with the up and down kind. My antenna is in the back glass... do I need to hook up the power antenna wire? FM reception is fantastic, just the AM sucks... lots of static... alot of acceleration and electrical interference.

Thanks guys,

Matt

hi, yes, plug the antennae for better reception - am is very sensitive to interference so unplugging will give you messy signal.

96 SSEi - my an antenna is plugged into the radio... but my "power antenna" wire is not hooked up... is that something that is necessary in these cars with the antennas in the glass?

Thanks,
Matt
