GM service told me stereo was shot, got a oem one shipped from our friend Harofreak...I installed new stereo but now it was locked out, took back to GM dealer, they unlock it but said this stereo no good also, now I know something is up....I can see the song playing on radio on display and everything.
My next suspect is fuses to amp....all good...then I pulled connector off amp and I got 12.7 vdc feeding amp....so I presumed it was the amp....ordered another factory amp from Haro....installed today and nothing!!!!! I'm at my wits end....any suggestions!????
*note ...I did have water on floor in back seat and in well for battery ....still haven't figured out how the hell that got in....could that have something to do with my issue, fried wire somewhere from moisture ???
Thx for any advice
Shawn

Let's check the amp wiring again. Use a test lamp instead of a voltmeter. Sometimes a circuit will have voltage but no amperage.

Check for + voltage at pin A1 on the large C1 connector and pin H on the small C2 connector.
Check for ground at pin A on the small C2 connector.

I had a friend with an 05 Monte with the same problem, water got in the back and there was no sound. What happened was the 12 volt supply wire for the amp got corroded. You can confirm this by probing the 12 volt supply at the amp, if it's not around 12 volts that's the issue. If you don't have a voltmeter handy, you can jump the 12 volt line straight to the positive terminal of the battery
