Hello all I thought it'd be as easy as any other vehicle. However apparently since I have the bose amp under the dash I may run into issues.

Can someone please explain to me what issues I will run into while trying to upgrade my stock HU?

Normally I'd just order a vehicle aftermarket harness and the stereo. But apparently it's different on this vehicle because of the BOSE amp and the steering wheel audio controls.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

btw I have tried to search on this subforum but didn't want to revive any old threads specially since they were for the 2000 model.

Let's try to narrow down what you're wanting to do. In the subject you say you want to *replace* your stock Head Unit. In the post you say you want to *upgrade* your stock head unit. Tell us what, specifically, you're wanting to put IN your car. I'm guessing you want to put in a more or less common aftermarket head unit, but it isn't clear if you're wanting to replace your stock head unit with another stock head unit, or what.

Then, are you *JUST* wanting to replace the head unit? The Bose system's amp is designed to drive the Bose speakers, and aren't likely to drive aftermarket speakers well. Are you also planning to replace your speakers and use aftermarket amplifiers; or are you hoping to use your stock speakers with their Bose amp? (And if so, what are you wanting to gain by replacing your stock head unit with an aftermarket one? Are you just wanting something like a USB input, or are you wanting something else? Give us an idea of what you're specifically wanting to do, and if possible, WHY.
