I have a 2001 Bonneville SSEI. I am putting in a new aftermarket stereo (Pioneer). I have an 8 speaker stock Bose system with a stock Bose amp. I need an interface and harness that will retain the chime and all of the warning sounds and also be compatible with the factory amplified system. All I can find are interfaces are not compatible with Factory Amplified Systems.

You want to buy the Metra GMOS-09. It will work fine. Make sure you cut the third wire (blue/white) from the end, even if it is marked wrong. Make sure you hook up the power antenna lead on the radio to the antenna module enable lead going to the dock and lock connector. Use your speaker outputs, not line level to make the speaker connections and observe correct polarity . You need a VW to motorolla male to male adaptor for the antenna, you need a PAC SW1C steering wheel control module if you want to keep the steering wheel controls. You need a Metra GM Multi-Kit 95-2001 Double-DIN adaptor for 00-05 Bonnevilles. You will have to cut out in back of the radio to make more room, but be careful not to damage to ribbon cable. Stay away from Motorized head units if possible. If you have a LCD display , consider a Boyo rear camera. It is not hard to install. If it comes with a DVD player you can disable to vehicle in motion disable feature. A nice feature is a USB port to play your music off a flash drive or an iPhone port to control your I phone from the head unit. If it has Bluetooth, you will have an external microphone to mount. I like to mount it behind the steering wheel on top of the steering column cover instead of on the sunvisor.
