Hey guys, I've searched all ze forums and found nothing, so I thought I'd ask since I know there are people here who have used the PAC SWIX Steering wheel controls adapter before. I'm installing a spare Pioneer into the 96 SSEi, and I can't even get the LEDs on mine to light up. Everything is hooked up as it should be I think, but obviously something is wrong. I have the green wire hooked up to the light green wire in pin 13 or 14, whichever it is, then I tried hooking the power up to the remote and red switched power, and neither changed anything, and ground is currently at the back of the radio unit itself, using the ground screw the Pioneer has on it, I also tried grounding through the harness but again it changed nothing. Anybody have any ideas for me? I can't get the lights to even do anything at all and I'm at a loss.

I do not know as much about the 96 but check the vehicle application guide to see if you need to connect 3 wires or 4. The instructions state GM cars with steering wheel airbag and steering wheel climate controls need an extra connection.

Well I called PAC, after failed email attempts and no listing of a phone number, I dug around and found one for their tech support. They were about as helpful as I thought they'd be. Basically there's something wrong with the unit and I need a new one.... New one is on its way from Amazon.

Thread solved. Either between a new PAC SWIX or moving the red wire from the radio side of the harness to the body side where the light green SWC signal is, it's fixed. Mounted the eye in the shift boot like Andrew did, works great.
