Ok, so as some of you may know, I just installed a Pioneer double din headunit to my car with a Metra wiring harness. It's all wired up and working well, but I would like to add a subwoofer. Its nothing permanent, just some crap 8s with a small Optimus amp, but its better than nothing. So the issue I have now is I can't find a wire that I can hook up to that turns on with the key on and turns off when I shut the car off. I have tried going through the wires in the radio and all the fuses in the fuse box under the bench in the back only to find everything is either always hot or never recieves power... I am very lost and my dad hasn't seen anything like it. Any help? Thanks :)

Did you end up using the harness?

If so there should be a blue wire, which is for remote power for an aftermarket amp.

Ahahaa yeahh after all that I finally did use the harness. Wish I could've saved the money, but I was sick of hearing Taylor Swift everyday to school ahaa. You know, I seen that! I tried both blue/white wires, which should be amp turn ons, but they never receive power? I tried using a volt meter and even when I turned the car on, the light didn't turn on :???:

They should be receiving power... Is the HU remote connected to that blue wire in the GMos-09 harness?

I think I have the GMOS-05 harness if that makes a difference? Pretty much all the wires are hooked up except I have an orange wire (illumination) two blue/white wires (amp remotes I believe), and a soid blue wire that I don't remember what it goes to. I tried putting a test light to the blue/white wires last night and was getting nothing. Still trying to look up any other information about it.

It may not be enough to turn on a test light. Do you have a multi-meter? Blue or Blue/White is always amp remote turn-on. Orange is optional illumination wire like you said.

The 05 harness would have the same colors. I believe the 05 is the non-bose harness. Not sure, but either way should wire up the same.

I guess it might be too little electricity. What's a multi meter? I probably have one, but I'm a little new and still don't have the names down ahaa :???: Yeah I just went through the booklet again and I have a solid blue wire, but it never says to connect it at all. The blue/white ones are for aftermarket amps, but I'll check them again for power. My radio is hooked up to the dimmer wire so I didn't need the illumination wire. Don't know what the difference between the two are.

Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Equus-3300-Hands- ... 190&sr=1-2

Lets you read all types of voltage/current digitally.

Ok yeah I've got one of those. I'll find it and see if I get any power. I'll get back to you soon and tell you what I find. Thanks :)

Just tried the amp turn on and nothing. Even tried it with a multi meter. The solid blue is a power atenna. It was reading 0.13 volts, but when I turned the car off it only raised the voltage. Getting very aggravated :banghead:

Do you have the head unit set for an amp? On mine i have to tell it to use the sub output, then i have to fo to an audio settings menu and set the sub power to on for the remote turn on to work.

Well I had two iginition wires, like what I hooked up to my head unit, available so I just hooked the remote up to the second ignition. Had it all wired up ready to go, went to turn on the car and the radio wouldn't turn on. Tried disconnecting the wires and it still wont hook up... So lost right now as to what happened. All my fuses seem good, but my radio won't turn on...
