This is in the GTP......I want to replace the stock Monsoon 6x9's with my Kenwood KFC-6982ie 6x9's that I had in the SSEi.
The problem is that there are 4 wires going to the Monsoon speakers. One set for the highs and one set for the lows. I also have a line out converter for my subwoofer, which has been hooked up and works fine. My question is do I just wire the wires for the highs to the 6x9's and then tie just the wires for the lows into the line out converter for the sub?

thats how i would probably do it and see how it sounds, if its not good then try hooking the lows to the speakers. if the stock 6x9's have tweeters powerd by the highs then it might sound like poop. it may not be wired for full range like the door speakers, tweets and sub are on seporate feeds.. try it both ways

Ok, so I tried this a few different ways. The 6x9's are in and they sound and work like they should, but now I can't get the sub to have a good signal, I even tried splicing it into the wires for the 6x9's, but to no avail. I disconnected it for now because its not a huge deal, but it would be great if it worked.

Need info on how you wired the car's harness to both your sub's line-out converter and to the Kenwood speakers. Are they parallel to each other, in series, or what? -diagram would be useful.

The wires that are highlighted with red are what I have the 6x9's hooked to. Positive and negative respectively. They seem to work and sound fine. The line out converter was connected to the ones highlighted with blue. But I also tried it with the sub wires to the red highlighted wires and had the same result. If I run both positives and negatives to both 6x9's with or without the sub included the speakers work but are staticy and sound like crap. I haven't tried pulling the radio to connect the line out converter up front. When everything was stock I had the line out converter hooked up to the red wires and the sub worked perfectly, I actually had to turn the gain on the sub amp almost all the way down because the bass was really powerful, even with the bass level on the radio itself at -2. This is also the stock radio if I haven't mentioned that.

Also tell us what sort of line output converter you have, and some info on the sub. Is the sub powered, or whatnot. . .

The sub is powered and it has a good remote source and the ground is nice and tight. Not sure on the line out converter but I stepped outside and got a picture.

This is the subwoofer for reference, (well the back of the box) also fusion brand, came as a set.

I finally fixed it. I pulled the radio out and found that the previous owner had a second wiring harness in there, I think to save the stock harness from splices, because they added an auxiliary input to it. So I just spliced the line out converter into the wires on the second harness and everything works like its supposed to now.
