I know this has been tossed around alot, but im getting ready to put an aftermarket radio in my 01 SLE and was wonder whats the best wiring harness to get. I wanna keep the chimes and the delayed power feature. so if i read correctly i have 2 choices, the PAC and the Metra... I have the 4 speaker system and onstar, but i dont really care about the onstar as im never gonna use it. thanks...

I have the Metra brand and it seems to work very well so i would say the metra one. Did your SLE come with Bose? im guessing if you just have 4 speakers in the doors, no tweeters and now 6x9 woofers in the rear then its the standard radio. the Metra one i have does line adjustments for my RCA's, can limit how loud or how quiet the system is.

looks like Metra makes a base model one for cars without onstar, so i dont know for sure if it will work as a Onstar bypass but it still has the chimes. I would just get the correct one so you know it will work for sure... but the one for without onstar is http://www.metraonline.com/part/GMRC-04

I have tweeters, front door and rear deck speakers. I don't see bose written anywhere.

mine doesnt say bose on it. i looked at the bottom of my rear 6x9 sub/speakers and it was printed Bose on it. but it doesnt say it anywhere else from what i can see. i know the SSEI has bose but im not sure about the SLE.. if you can lower the rear trunk cover and lookat the bottom of the rear deck lid speakers it should say bose or nothing.
