Year and Trim: 2000 Pontiac Bonneville SSEi
Hi there. Im a proud owner of a 2000 Bonneville SSEi I previously didn't even know there was a board for Bonneville owners until I started trying to replace the CD+tape player in my car. I recently purchased a Sony Xplod player and don't know anything about how to place it in or even how to take the old one out. Any help? :woowoo:

You will need a stereo dash kit. I run a full sony xplod system and the only thing you really need is a dash mounting kit, scosch wiring harness and antenna wiring extension

That's incorrect, the bose system runs door chimes through the stereo on 2000+ ssei's if you want to retain full factory functions you will need the metra adapter or the PAC adapter more info can be found here

Thanks for the help. I know where to get most of that stuff... but how do I go about getting the radio or anything out of the dash? I do have my Bonneville owners manual if thats the one you mean.

The difference is more the fact that he has a 2000, and you have a 97...

The 00+ cars are a Dok/Lok style stereo.
He needs a complete wiring harness with the box to make the car chimes work. Plus an antenna adaptor.
Being a bose it probably has steering wheel controls so the harness most likely needs to be for that too.

So I am finally installing this radio... I have a Metra GMOS 09 , a Steering wheel kit, and the Sony Xplod GT24w head unit.

I took a look at the thread regarding the Gmos09 but nothing actually has a step by step how to hook it up... the only other thread I could find regarding this showed how to remove the dash but not how to hook anything up.

Can anyone enlighten me as to a step by step or what i'm supposed to be doing here? I Have all the right parts finally but... at a loss.

First step would be get the old stereo out and douple check your harnesses to make sure they plun in right. Then you will need to splice the wires from the back of the new stereo to the matching wires on the harness. The colors should line up, however if they don't directions should come with the harness. After that it should be simple plug and play for the wiring. The mounting kit should have directions for your specific car and from there just mount your stereo and put the dash back together.

Hope this helps a bit and if you still have questions just ask or post pictures and we will be happy to help.

You can use these for the wire splices in case you didn't know, just make sure you get the red ones because they are the right size for the small wires on the stereo and the harness.
