I could. I'd have to get an act of Congress to release the funds for such a thing though.

Bills>Food>Gas>Allowance for kid>Allowance for me>Pets>Maintenance fund for running driving cars>Bonneville.

Hi, I've been PM'ing with harofreak00, but my latest PM is sitting in the outbox, doesn't show as being sent. Anyone know what this means, and is there something I need to do in order to move it along?

EDIT: Never mind, just looked and it now shows as sent. I'm still learnin'...

When its sitting in the Outbox, it means I haven't read it yet.

If you find aftermarket 4 ohm speakers, you can wire those up in parallel and still get your 2 ohm load. :btruestory:

Kinda doesn't make sense. Factory speaker is 1 +1=2; both rears are wired in parallel to the 4 Ohm amp, from what I've read. So 2+2=4

BUT... You say 4+4=2 for the 4 Ohm amp???

Thats incorrect, the bose amp has 5 channels, the 6x9s are wired on their own channel. as my initial post says, 6x9s are wired to create a 2ohm load at the amp.

swampthing wrote:
The rear 6x9's act as the systems subwoofer, they only get bass frequencies from the amp and they are two 1-ohm speakers wired in series to make a single 2-ohm subwoofer.

What sandrock is saying is that if you change the speakers wiring from series to parallel you change the impedance. Any time you have two speakers wired to a single channel you have two options for wiring, series and parallel. Series doubles the speakers impedance, while parallel cuts it in half.
So really its like this if you have four ohm speakers which most aftermarket speakers are.

Series: 4+4=8

Parallel 4÷2=2

SILL looks like no one has done this & reported back. harofreak00 helped me out w/ getting stock replacements, they're still in a box, I need to figure out how to dismantle the shelf. As far as putting 4 Ohm in parallel, I thought I read somewhere that these 2 Ohm speakers were in parallel on a 4 Ohm amp? In this thread I also read what swampthing said, that they are 1 Ohm speakers in series acting as a 2 Ohm speaker? So confusin'...

Through some craigslist trading I obtained some very nice Kicker 6x9s that will go in the car probably this weekend. I'll report back when I get them installed ;)

This should get you started with the rear speaker removal

I would just put in haro's stock replacements and be done with it
