My factory speakers have stopped working...i have had my eyes on a sony xplod system for this car and i needed to know if this job rquires any sort of modifications. The speakers are 4 way. I will be purchasing a pair of 5-1/4" for the front, .50" Tweeters, and 6" x 9" in the back. What mods (if any) will need to be done.

5-1/4"

I'm not a big fan of the Xplod crap, but I suppose it's better than what you have right now.

What they sound like in a Bonneville may be totally different, and every head unit differs too. In other words, your Demo was tuned for different circumstances. In terms of Audio, the Xplod are low end, but like I said, it'll be better than what you have.

go for sony if you liked what you had in your other cat, or i know pioneer makes some decent speakers you could get for either the same or alittle more of the price

Those are pretty low end speakers. You sure you can't shell out a little more for something better?

I just finished putting them in and all i can tell you is that these are not low end speakers. they are loud and they are great. Sony speakers are the only ones i trust seeing as how many times pioneer and alpine brand speakers i have went through.

I'm glad you're happy with the sound, but they ARE low-end speakers, both in frequency response and construction. There's a reason they are that affordable. Enjoy them just the same.
