In search of some random bs parasitic drain on my brothers 2000 ssei. I was doing a check up of all the ground wires and saw some random wire just hanging off the wiring that connect to the ac compressor.

It's connected to one of the wires but don't know where the other ends supposed to be connected to. Looks like it was just wrapped around and led to somewhere else but I can't figure it out. Some pics to help.

Red wire. The one randomly hanging.
Pics rotated when I uploaded them. Sorry.

That is not factory. Looks like someone added it, probably trying to manually engage the compressor clutch. Remove it and tidy up those wires. If you need a new pigtail, I have one available.

I had to get someone to do the diagnostic.

This is what he sent me afterwards. What module is the one he's talking about? Is it the pcm?

He did good work for you. You probably have a bad cluster as they are a common failure point. Pull the cluster and check if the draw is gone.

So pretty much it's the cluster right that needs to be replaced right? He said something about reprogramming it. Do the clusters need ro be reprogrammed?

Used ones are plug and play
New ones need to be programmed (I don't think you could find a new cluster if you tried)
