Welcome to the forum!
Sorry to hear that your Bonneville is having problems.

When you turn the key to the ACC position, do you hear the fuel pump turn on for 5 seconds?
If not, then check the fuel pump fuse, located in the under rear seat fuse box.
If that doesn't result in normal fuel pump noise, then swap the fuel pump relay with an identical one or replace it with a new one.
If the fuel pump still doesn't run after this, it has either failed or there's no power to the fuel pump.

If the fuel pump is running, then one very quick and easy thing to do is to unplug the MAF sensor electrical connector and see if the car will now start.

If the MAF sensor is the problem, cleaning the sensor with a spray MAF sensor cleaner only, might work.
This video is a good one
Although he has a 3.5L engine, the location and procedure are the same

If replacing the MAF --- buy the Hitachi MAF0047 OR get a used original equipment MAF sensor from a reliable junkyard or from Andrew (Harofreak00 on this forum).
Experience has shown that most other brands often go bad rather quickly.

Rockauto.com is an excellent source for parts if you can wait a few days for arrival.
They also offer forum members a discount (code in their Pontiac Bonneville Club Vendor's forum post).
Amazon, especially if you have Prime, is another favorite source of mine.

This site goes into more details on how to determine the cranks no start cause

Prior to this no start problem, was the battery going dead very quickly?

When you say the battery drains almost instantly, do you mean as soon as it gets connected or do you mean that you fully charge the battery, and it goes dead after repeatedly cranking?

I'd have the NAPA battery tested to be sure it isn't bad.
Low voltage does all sorts of strange things to todays computer controlled cars.
Repeated cranking drains a battery rather quickly, so it may just be that.

You also need clean, tight connections at the battery cable ends to ensure the power can flow from the battery to the starter and to ensure that the alternator charges the battery.
Clean all corrosion off the battery terminals and off the battery cable ends.

Once the no start problem is resolved, you can check the alternator.

hi, test the battery with a multimeter - probe both + and - posts and you should not get a circuit. it should read infinite resistance - no continuity.

if it fails, the plates are probably warped and touching - causing internal short - replace battery

see if you get fuel spraying from the fuel rail service port - it looks like the one on tires - push the centre pin for a bit and see if fuel is being pumped to the rail.

if not, check fuse and relay under back seat. if fuse/ relay are good, the pump may be bad - check connection and see if its getting power
