Morning,

Today I hit a pothole on my dirt road with my passenger side front wheel. At that moment, both the "Trac off" and "Anti-Lock" lights came on and are staying on.

What the hell did I do now?

it may be the wheel speed sensor that is in the bearing/hub assembly.

with the jarring, it may have come unplugged or damaged

You will need to replace that wheel bearing. Not a terrible job. I recommend Timken as the replacement.

I had this same issue with my car but with the rear driver wheel.

99% sure you'll end up with a wiring issue, not a hub replacement.

I have had a bad wheel bearing for a while now (same wheel that hit pot hole). I'll have to replace them soon.

Hopefully this issue goes away and I don't have a wiring issue...

I’m the type of person who likes to know the “whys” when something fails. So this is what happened over the week.

On Monday, trac off and anti-lock lights still on, I pulled into gas station. Pumped my fuel and started the car. Trac off and anti-lock lights were off!

As I pulled out of station they both came back on.

Then today, I did same thing. I pumped fuel, started car and they both were off!

As I pulled out they came on!

Is it possible the weight from the fuel is triggering something in the rear?

Get your codes scanned before even thinking about trying to guess what is going on.

Andrew,

I don't have any check engine lights on. Will there still be codes?

if you have body codes, that doesn't light the cel. CEL is primarily for emissions. plus, the scan will tell you which wheel is bad - I would do the bearing and see if its the issue - needs to be done anyway.

A Tech2 scanner will find your culprit without firing the parts cannon at the car.

Ok so I replaced both front wheel bearings. Passenger side wires were cut. However....I still have Trac and antilock lights on.

Do they need to be cleared with scan tool?

Did you fix the wiring? The lights don't need a reset.

Hello,

The cut wires were between the hub and the hub connector so once new hub was installed had new connector.

I'm at a loss.

Wondering if I should turn key to run position, then pull wheels off and mess with connectors to see if I can get a connection by trying to get dash lights to go off.

One thing I didn't do yet was check the rear connectors.

If it ever stops raining here I'll try that.

Check around. Some Advance Auto, and Autozones have ABS scanners that they can use to scan your car.

you try to disconnect the battery. maybe it'll reset.
does the trac control work?easy to test.
put some sand in a park lot and see if abs works also - maybe the light is funky

OK its the right front wheel speed sensor. I just had it scanned.

What do I start first?

Is that passenger side?
