ok, went to bone yard today and got a better looking radio for the 2001 Bonneville. This is the same type I removed.

Issue is, the theftlock red light is lit and radio will not turn on.

The display shows nothing. Does not say "LOC"...just a solid red theftlock light.

Help..!!??

hi, I believe you have to get the radio learned by pcm or bcm..........others will let you know what

The radio must be programmed by the dealer or someone with a Tech2.

You can "test" the radio by holding down 3 buttons at the same time:
    Power Knob
    Seek Up
    #5

No, it has to be a Tech2 or similar (some high end scantools ($10,000+) can do it)

If the display didn't even show, don't waste your time with that radio, the display bulbs are burnt out.

FYI, I can rebuild your original radio and it won't need re-programming. I charge $50 including return shipping.

Ok so my innocent trip to the boneyard was not so good.
All I set out after was an hvac with good bulbs..only half lights up..better than none I guess.

So if the radio I picked does not even show a display, I'll go get another one tomorrow. The one I picked was CD only. I saw another one in a car with CD and cassettte ...wish me luck.

I may take you up on your rebuild offer if all failed.
