I just lost my interior lights and trunk light on my 2001 SLE.
Are these on the same circuit?
Also is this the fuse box under the rear seat?
Thanks.

Start by checking the 10A fuse in the rear, under seat fuse block labeled "INT LP". There is also a relay with the same identifier in that circuit. If the fuse is good, you can try swapping the relay with another known good one of the same size and type. There have been several issues with wires in the sun visors chaffing and shorting causing interior lamp failures. This may be something to consider.

Finally tracked down the short.
After starting in the trunk and moving forward it ended up being both sun visors that were shorting out.
ddalder you were correct!!!
Thank you very much.
The wires looked O.K. but we kept blowing fuses until we unhooked both visors.(I believe the wires in the visor are cracked)
I cannot tell you how great it is to have interior lights again especially at night.
It is also nice to have a trunk light again.

It's great news that you're not blowing fuses anymore! I'm not sure what to recommend for the visors. You may get lucky and find some at a wrecker, but they may be in no better condition and could cause the same problem. Not every Bonneville suffers from this (mine doesn't - I rarely use my visors though so movement and chaffing is almost non- existent).

I haven't seriously looked into rewiring them. I think to do it properly would require disassembly to the point it may not be possible to reassemble easily/properly. I'm sure the short will be at the pivot point where the visor rotates at the corner it attaches to the roof. Getting in there is the problem. Perhaps one day I'll grab one from the wrecker and see how hard it is to disassemble.

The sun visors are on my wife's 2001SLE.
I found out that she uses them a lot more than I do on my 2000SLE.(so far no problem on my car)
Of all the things I like about my Bonneville's the vanity lights in the visors will not be missed.(my wife may feel different)
Again thanks for your input.
When it comes to electrical shorts tracing them down can be a real PITA.
