I ordered a "new" instrument cluster off of eBay since my fuel guage back light was out and I didn't want to hassle with trying to tear apart the unit and risk damaging it.

I expected, that with the ease of removal and replacement, that the mileage was stored someplace else on the body and not with in the cluster, but lo and behold, when I plugged the new unit in, it showed half the miles of my old one.

I left the new cluster in for the weekend because I knew I would be doing quite a bit of night driving, but I reallly don't want to leave it in very long racking up the wrong mileage and basically having a dishonest count if I would even happen to sell the vehicle.

Anyway, the question I wanted to ask is if there is any way for GM or a member with a tech II to reprogram the mileage on this now unit to represent the true mileage of my vehicle? If not, I'll be tearing my original guage cluster apart sometime this week to repair the light.
