2000 Bonneville SE (not orig engine, but still a 3800 Series II from a 2000 Olds I think)

Car leaking water (what I filled radiator with to test for the leak), but not from radiator or reservoir tank or their hoses. It's dropping a huge puddle from the back of the engine (towards the dash), seemingly low to the ground, about 6" in front of the front driver's side tire and appx 1/3 of the way in / toward the undercarriage center (if you consider the middle to be at 1/2 way). It appears to be pouring (not leaking) in a straight line vertical to the interior dash and somewhat under the plenum case perhaps. Without the ability to jack it up just yet, does anyone have any theories as to what the prob is? Of what all is back there that coolant runs through? I think it's in the area of the starter I just replaced...
