Had a bunch of play in my manual passenger seat and it was annoying to both me and my passengers. For a while I thought the only fix to the issue would be a new seat. However, Benvw99 was able to find that tightening these two bolts on both sides of the seat pretty much got rid of the play entirely. I tried this as well and it fixed my seat!

Just gotta remove the seat from the vehicle. It's pretty heavy so taking care would be advised. My scrawny self found that removing the headrest makes it a little easier to maneuver out of the car. The leather in back is fastened on these lip type fasteners. Pretty easy to undo with some wiggling, and they snap right back together when you're all finished up. The bolts in the seat will not seem loose, but you'll find that you can tighten them quite a bit. If you have an air bag, you might find it a little hard to get at the top bolt on that side, but it's doable.
