:banghead: It all began two days ago. I was on my way home and the trans started to shift very hard through all the gears. I got the car home, shut it off for 15 minutes then went back on a drive around the block. It didn't shift hard anymore. So, as a precaution, I did a fluid change. All was well the rest of the day yesterday and most of today. As I was leaving the parking lot of work, the car didn't want to shift into second gear. The rpms kept going up until it finally hit 4k rpm, then the trans shifted. Then the same thing happened for the rest of the gears. Needless to say, I limped the car home. I did search yesterday on the forum and found out that the pressure control solenoid would cause the issue with shifting hard through all the gears and that it was intermittent. But now, here I am. Stuck and not sure what to look for. Fluid level is dead on. The car goes in reverse, and will go forward, it just wont shift until 4k rpm. Could the torque converter be shot?

I would try and shift through gears manually first at idle and then on a mixed city hwy drive does it improve or same ?

Disconnect the battery for half an hour or more and then see what happens. Or did you do that during the fluid change?
