Greetings! Went to check the oil on our 2003 SSEi yesterday and noticed a belt was missing. The belt is the one that goes around the super charger and is the outer most belt in the system. It appears the part under the PCM/coil packs with the two small pulley's will need replaced as it has damage.....my question is what is the name of this part?...again it's under the coil packs/pcm and has two pulley's attached to it? Also would it hurt to drive the car 5-7 miles to a mechanics shop?

Found some info.....looks like it is the "grooved idler pulley" that has failed....I should be able to drive it to a shop shouldn't I?

A common problem.
Be sure to read about this and other common issues to expect here http://www.pontiacbonnevilleclub.com/forum/2000-2005-other-than-gxp/topic25362.html
The repair is actually not difficult to do.
The 7 mile trip will be OK if you are easy enough on the accelerator so the fuel mixture doesn't require any boost.

Actually you can drive it any way you want, no supercharger belt on a Series II L7 just means no boost. You will be way down on power but it won't hurt anything to drive it like that.

You'll need a T-50 bit and the threads are "LEFT HAND". So, the threads are backwards from standard threads. Just replaced mine a couple of days ago. The smooth pulley is the tension pulley and the T-50 is used in the middle of the pulley to reduce tension to put the belt back on. Tight space in there, and the bolt holding the pulley on will be pretty tight, but it's an easy - and common - repair. Part is about $16 at Autozone or other parts stores.
