I feel the symptoms but need confirmation that the problem is internal to the transmission and not some external device.

The TC locks up and does not release until the engine almost stalls when coming to a stop, then it releases, starts out fine in 1st then after banging into second locks the converter and it remains locked when shifting into 3rd....holy neck snap!

Not good I know.

When the input piston began to slip last month when cold, I fixed it....temporarily it seems......by installing a transmission pressure modulator and increasing the pressure enough to stop the slipping. It never thru a code the whole time it was cold slipping.
Now with this new problem, it throws the P0742 code. I cleared it twice and it drove fine for a few minutes then clunk it lit up again.

*dang* and I just installed brand new performance tires!
