Hello everyone, first time poster. I'm looking at potentially buying an 04 bonneville V6 SLE. The car seems to be in great shape, apart from one issue and I'm just curious if anyone else here has had the same problem. When accelerating hard ish in low gears, the transmission seems to slip and let go for a second and the engine revs much higher. It's almost like it's shifting into neutral for a second before it shifts up because the rpms go way up for about a second. I've read that the pressure control solenoid can be an issue with this car, could that be what is causing this? Appreciate any insight anyone can provide. Thanks!

Welcome.

Does this happen when the transmission is warm? Or fresh off the lot?

Fresh off the lot, we had not been driving more than 2 minutes. The car had been running for 10-15 minutes idling beforehand though.

So I assume you're driving along at like 30 mph and you nail it and it does this? Or is the 1-2 shift at WOT?

Miles on the car?

well I'm from the great white north, so it's got 188,291 km. So around 118K miles? I believe it was when shifting from 1st to 2nd. It was probably a little slower than 30mph, more like 15-20 mph. Not fast at all.

Could be a trans mount, or it needs a shift kit.
