hey guys I need your guy's opinions. My mechanic told me that my back driver side shock absorber is shot. He suggests switching it to spring. Have you guys done this if so pros and cons?

Don't do it, keep your factory air ride. New shocks can be purchased shipped to your door for around $70 and they are very easy to do yourself.

Ok, he also said that it's cheaper down road. Is it just the same too? I want to keep air just wondering if it's just a big difference or not

No idea why he would say it is cheaper down the road, all it is doing is eliminating a system that works good. A good used compressor can be had cheap enough should yours fail, that and the level sensor are really the only parts that can go bad. The air lines can break but but those aren't terribly expensive and would only break if they are not removed carefully from the old shocks or left hanging down where they can be snagged.
