I purchased an ELM Bluetooth reader to check and repair codes on my '01 SE. After I "cleared" the codes with the ELM, my SES light will not come on, at initial start-up, when all of the other idiot lights "test". While I am happy that I do not see that big, yellow, beacon on my dash all of the time, I want things to operate as they should. Anybody know why that would happen or know how to correct it? I understand that it could be the bulb, but it seems like that would be one hell of a coincidence.

If it doesn't light up at key on when all of the other lights come on for the start up test, it's most likely a bad bulb. Very coincidental, but all of the dash lights usually come on at key on to test the bulbs before the car starts.
