I have a 2001 Bonneville SSEi with the Chrome 6 spoke rims and the matching center caps.
I noticed one of them is loose (i can easily pull it out of wheel).
I went online to order a spare or 2 and discovered how rare these are.

So I wanted to ask a couple of questions to some more experiences owners.

1. is there another chrome Pontiac center cap that I can use? (the original model number is 9594222 )

2. Is there any way of securing the cap to the wheel? lock or tension, etc.

I haven't lost any YET, but the one loose one is a matter of time (I pulled it from the wheel until i figure something out)

Thanks

i've been doing some more reading and research and I have an idea but would like some more experienced feedback.

what about using silicone dabs around edge of cap when placing it on wheel.
I only really remove them 3x a year for rotation or inspection.
Would silicone be ok for using to adhere them but damageless on the pulling cap out?
What about a hot glue gun? or would silicone be better because it stays flexible? IF silicone which one?

I have seen on customer cars where they silicon them on. Sure, it holds them on...but when it comes time to remove the wheel, you damage the cap even more and you have a mess to clean up. Just get a proper replacement and don't worry about it. I have good ones for $75 each.

The part number I am tracking for the cap is 9594777 and numerous GM on-line authorized parts dealers are selling them for around $63.

9594222 I believe is the number (unless there are 2)
