My 2000 Bonneville SLE decided it needed a rod knock yesterday...wonderful . I purchased it around 1 1/2 years ago when my 03 GP GT had it's trans go out. The GP had 180k on it and front end damage from an uninsured driver running a red light. I patched it back together and it drove for another year till the trans. I came across the Bonneville with 150k, excellent condition, and a freshly rebuilt trans for $3200 so I took it.

The GP is still sitting in my garage. Would it make any sense to have the engine swapped from the GP (again 180k) to the Bonneville? Any idea on the rough cost of this sort of thing? I wouldn't be doing it myself. I can do quite a bit, but an engine swap doesn't fit into my skill set. My only other option really would be to sell off the GP and use that cash for another engine, which probably would get me about the same thing.
